Baby blankets, swaddles and cot layers

Muslin swaddles, cellular weaves and knitted layers — breathable cotton for the pram, the floor and the car seat.

About our blankets

Weaves and what each one is for

Not every blanket does the same job. Our muslin swaddles are large, loosely woven squares that soften with every wash and work as a swaddle, a feeding cover, a pram shade or a changing surface on someone else's floor. Cellular weaves have small open holes that trap warmth while still letting air move, which makes them the safer choice for a pram or a car seat on a mild day. Knitted blankets are heavier and slower to cool, made for tummy time on a hard floor and for the sofa. Everything is GOTS-certified organic cotton, undyed or coloured with low-impact dyes, with edges finished flat so there is nothing to unravel or catch a finger.

Safe sleep matters here

We make blankets for supervised use — pram, floor, sofa, car seat, arms. For sleep in a cot, current safe-sleep guidance is a clear, flat sleep surface with no loose bedding, so we would point you to a sleep bag from our Sleep category instead of a blanket. If you do use a light blanket in a cot for an older baby, tuck it no higher than the chest and firmly under the mattress. Sizes here range from generous swaddle squares to smaller pram-sized layers, and each product page lists the exact dimensions so you can match it to your pram or moses basket.

Care and longevity

All blankets arrive pre-washed and only get better from there: muslin in particular needs three or four cycles to reach its softest state. Wash cool at 30°C, tumble low or line dry, and skip fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces breathability. Knits should be dried flat to keep their shape. Made in small batches, these are the pieces most likely to be kept long after they are needed, so we finish them to last.
