About our bodysuits
What makes our bodysuits different
A bodysuit is the piece a baby wears more than anything else, so we build ours around the parts that usually go wrong. The neckline is an envelope shape, which means it folds outwards and slides down over the shoulders instead of being pulled back over the head after a nappy accident. The snaps run along the inside leg in a single straight line, are nickel-free, and are set at slightly wider spacing so you can close them by feel in the dark. Seams are flat-locked and pressed outwards so nothing raises a mark on new skin, and the side seams are offset away from the ribs where a car seat strap sits.
Fabric and fit
Every bodysuit in this category is cut from GOTS-certified organic cotton jersey with a small amount of stretch so it moves as your baby rolls, kicks and stretches. The fabric is pre-washed before cutting, which means the piece you receive has already done most of its shrinking. Colour comes from low-impact dyes tested for harmful substances, so the palette stays soft and washes back the same shade. Sizing runs from newborn to 24 months and is cut generously — about two centimetres of extra room through the body and a fold-back cuff on long-sleeve styles. If your baby sits between two sizes, take the larger one; a slightly roomy bodysuit is comfortable, a tight one is not.
Care and everyday use
Machine wash cool at 30°C with a mild detergent and skip the softener — the cotton keeps softening on its own with every cycle. Tumble on low or line dry in the shade. Because these are the pieces that get changed most often, most parents keep six to eight in the current size and a few in the next size up. Short-sleeve styles work as a base layer under knits in winter and on their own in summer, and every bodysuit here is designed to sit flat under our sleepwear and sets so nothing bunches when you layer.
